VVD
VVD, renowned for its meticulous attention to detail and distinctive components, undergoes enhancements in 2024, introducing new elements and finishes to elevate the VVD kitchen experience. These enhancements include a 150mm high marble top, 2700KLED dimmable lighting, a new PT40 door, and new finishes.
EDIDA Elle Deco International Design Awards, 2017
The new marble top complements the existing 20mm and 60mm tops, as well as a redesigned snack top with a unique support system adaptable to other kitchens in the Molteni&C collection.
The new 2700K LED lighting is seamlessly integrated into the range module covers.
The introduction of the PT40 door allows for seamless integration into passageways between rooms, aligning with the kitchen design up to a maximum height of 3000mm. Available in push, pull, and pivot variants, with widths ranging from 600mm for single doors to 2400mm for double doors, the PT40 door boasts a thickness of 40 or 50mm depending on the hinge, and is made with the same finish on both sides for consistency.
New finishes include Lepanto Red marble for kitchen tops and Tuscan Brown steel, Midnight Oak, Cloud Gray, Warm Gray, Cream, and Caramel melamine, as well as Iris and Cappuccino lacquers for panels.
Among the Molteni&C kitchens, VVD stands out for its unique compositional features. The upper outline of the cabinet door in aluminum defines the facade with its ergonomic profile, available in three metallic finishes. Terminal panels add a distinctive touch to the countertops, while finger recesses provide a clean and elegant design. Open bases, an external sink, and trays beneath the countertops complete the overall design.
Vincent Van Duysen reimagines the finger recess detail in a modern and sophisticated manner. Slim side and end units contrast with the substantial thickness of the worktops, interrupted by sculptural stone sink bowls. Additional end panels for VVD are available in 16mm thickness, partially covering the side of the worktop and highlighting its thickness in a unique play of proportions.
The combination of varied materials and interplay of solids and voids create a dynamic and sophisticated kitchen. Large pull-out trays, open-ended drawers, and under-top trolleys complete the project. An aluminum load-bearing structure allows for completely suspended compositions. Technological innovations such as discreet aluminum door handles for enhanced grip and the innovative Pivot hinge, enabling doors to open at 180 degrees, demonstrate true innovation.
